Traveling to Jamaica

Looking back at today's generation , it is sometimes difficult to construct a conversation face to face , as it was in the previous years . Nowadays , everything is done through technology . Feelings aren't truly expressed because you don't get to hear or know the true meaning of what someone has to say because texting has excelled exceptionally . This has caused some major setbacks for families in society as most families  rarely spend quality time together , and if they do , they are either tucked away in their own form of technology . However , this can change . To get back to the actual bonding and quality time , I suggest  that families should take a vacation , taking a break from social media and any form of technology .

A simple way to achieve this could be a trip to one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean , Jamaica. Now that we are preparing for the trip , its always good to know beforehand any entry requirements , local holidays , or other travel tips specific to Jamaica . These tips will keep you safe , informed , and ensure that your vacation is most enjoyable .

. Distance between the United States and Jamaica is approximately 1,722 miles .

. According to official Jamaica passport requirements , it is necessary that you have a valid U.S. passport in order to travel to Jamaica as an American Citizen . The requirements do not end there , either : Your passport will need to be valid for at least the length of your intended stay and will need to have at least one blank page for an entry stamp . You will also need a return or onward ticket and will have to possess the means to cover costs during your stay .

. If traveling by air , it is important to know that the trip will take an average of 4hours and 6 minutes if there are no sudden delays or interruptions when flying . In case of the fears for the unknown , Jamaica is a well connected destination with the international airports in the resort areas of Montego Bay , Kingston and Ocho Rios .

. If you are traveling by sea , you will be welcomed at World-class ports in one of the island's major resort areas boasting top-notch facilities to begin your tropical excursion . Feel the beat of Jamaica the moment you enter the pier met by warm smiles , spicy bites and a colorful island atmosphere .

. It is also important to know the currency and the exchange rate for Jamaica .

Jamaican currency is called Jamaican Dollar . It is abbreviated as (JMD ) and also subdivided into 100 cents .

In the foreign currency market , the most common Jamaica dollar exchange is the USD/JMD rate , which as of September 2019 , stands at 1 USD = 136.05 JMD

Now , let's get to the fun part! As we all know Jamaica is an island full of many wonders , so when visiting Jamaica , most tourists tend to stay close to the sugar white beaches and crisp blue water of the Atlantic Ocean , but what lies behind those beaches is where the beautiful treasures of the country truly are . While traveling , most people try to see everything a place has to offer . It could be the historic landmarks , or something as simple as the beauty of mother nature . Jamaica has many interesting places to go to and explore like the Blue Mountains , Dunn's River Falls , and ancient Spanish town . One of the falls that is a must see for anyone's vacation trip to Jamaica is Dunn's River falls . When visiting this falls , you can climb up the levels of falls with a tour guide , or just spectate from the side and enjoy the beauty . Climbing up the massive falls takes about forty minutes , and there is no way to make this journey without getting wet .

Getting excited yet ? Another of many wonders in Jamaica is the clear ponds . The clear ponds are also a great area to stop by and take a nice refreshing dip to cool down during your climb and at the top of the falls , most people can kick back and relax at the craft village .

Spring break is also another popular time of the year as there are lots of things to do and also see ; like attending a toga party . A toga party is a party at which attendees dress up approximations of Ancient Roman dress. They tend to be especially popular on college campuses , especially in fraternities and sororities , although people who are not in college can hold them as well.

Fun Fact: During your trip many things can change , so do not stress or prepare more . Remember that you are on a vacation and it is good to be flexible so that things flow spontaneously . Letting you surprise is part of the adventure of travelling .[URL=https://fittwotravel.com/2015/10/06/9-reasons-to-visit-jamaica/]

Although this feels like a dream vacation , it is also important to stick to whatever budget you might have prepared for this trip . This is a very hard scenario because its whole existence depends on the amount of fun you would have but this should be of no problem because just like every trip there are several steps to take when concerned about the budget . It definitely won't be fun having to think about all of this but once we are able to determine how much we want to spend on everything from transportation to a place to stay to souvenirs and meals . If we decide something is too expensive , we can always scale it back and cross it off the list .
